Shopify Commerce Next: Sasa's Cross-Border eCommerce Journey with CLEARgo and Shopify Plus

In September 2025, Shopify hosted its largest-ever Commerce Next event for the Greater China region in Shenzhen, drawing over 300 in-person attendees and many more tuning in via live stream. The event brought together brands, tech innovators, and partners to explore the future of digital commerce, making it a landmark occasion for the Chinese eCommerce ecosystem.
A highlight of the event was the panel discussion featuring Hong Li, Sasa's eCommerce Director; Charles Chan, Managing Director of CLEARgo; and Jaiying Zhao from Google. The conversation centered around how brands can leverage Shopify and the latest tech solutions to reconstruct the commerce value chain for accelerated, sustainable growth.
Sasa's Cross-Border Success Story
Hong Li shared Sasa's inspiring story of eCommerce transformation. Over the past four years, Sasa has partnered with CLEARgo to launch and continuously grow its global cross-border eCommerce site powered by Shopify Plus. The collaboration enabled Sasa to scale internationally, overcoming challenges unique to the beauty and wellness sector—from logistics and payments to customer experience.
A key innovation highlighted was Sasa's deployment of the CLEARomni Loyalty platform. This allowed Sasa to create a comprehensive loyalty program with attractive rewards and benefits for its members, strengthening customer retention across borders. Members enjoy personalized incentives, exclusive offers, and seamless omni-channel engagement.
AI-Driven Customer Experience
Hong also shared how Sasa leverages the CHATTERgo AI Agent. As a 24/7 multi-lingual beauty advisor, the AI agent provides expert product recommendations, answers questions, and supports Sasa's international audience in real time. The integration of AI into customer service ensures every visitor—from anywhere in the world—receives engaging, high-quality, and consistent support.

CLEARgo's Charles Chan discussed the strategic importance of fostering innovation in the Asia-Pacific market, empowering brands to be agile, data-driven, and customer-focused.
