What is Shopify Plus PSG?

The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) is a financial initiative designed to assist Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore in adopting technology to enhance productivity. The grant supports the purchase of pre-qualified IT solutions and equipment. Shopify is a pre-approved IT vendor under the PSG, offering significant support to SMEs looking to digitalize their operations.

PSG Eligibility

Eligible businesses must be:

  1. Registered/incorporated in Singapore

  2. Have at least 30% local shareholding

  3. Group Annual Sales Turnover of ≤ S$100 million or ≤ 200 employees

  4. Entities like charities, religious organizations, and government agencies are not eligible.

PSG Application

Steps to Apply for the PSG Grant:

  1. Identify relevant pre-approved solutions.
    Access the list of supportable solutions and choose the ones relevant to your business.

  2. Obtain a quotation from the vendor.
    Obtain a quotation from a pre-approved vendor for IT solutions or equipment.

  3. Submit your application via the Business Grants Portal with your CorpPass.

Shopify subscriptions, including Basic, Shopify, Advanced Shopify, and Shopify Plus, are pre-scoped approved IT solutions for retail businesses. This makes it easier for Shopify users to receive grant support.

PSG FAQs

Application

  • How long will it take to process my PSG application?
    It takes approximately 4 - 6 weeks, as indicated by Enterprise Singapore. Submit your
    application early to accommodate this processing time.

  • How can I make PSG application revisions?
    File a change request on the Business Grants Portal (BGP) following the provided steps.

  • Why is my PSG application not approved?
    Shopify can only assist with quotation-related issues. For other issues, refer to the PSG
    FAQs or contact the helpdesk.

  • What Shopify costs are covered by the grant?
    Only the subscription fee for the annual plan is covered

  • How much of the amount will the grant cover? And how is it calculated?
    PSG supports up to 50% of the qualifying cost for the Shopify subscription, or the
    predetermined cost in SGD, whichever is lower.

Note: The support level was up to 70% from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023. For Food Services and Retail sectors, it was up to 80% during this period. From 1 April 2023, the maximum support level is 50% for all sectors. For more details, refer to the Business Grants Portal.

Payment

  • When can I pay Shopify for the plan subscription?
    Wait for approval before purchasing your Shopify plan. If you pay before receiving the PSG
    Letter of Offer and do not get approved, there will be no reimbursement or refund.

  • Can I pay for the annual plan on a monthly basis?
    No, PSG requires upfront payment for the annual plan.

  • Can I downgrade or change my Shopify plan after my PSG application is approved/receiving the Letter of Offer?
    Inform Enterprise Singapore in writing if you wish to make any changes to the PSG solution
    after approval.
